From Jesolo: Day Trip to Murano, Burano, and Torcello

Cross the lagoon from Punta Sabbioni with an expert guide to visit Murano, Burano, and Torcello. Enjoy time to explore, eat, and shop on these peaceful island getaways.

Details

Escape the crowds in Venice and hop on a boat bound for the three most famous Venetian islands: Murano, Burano, and Torcello. Set sail from Punta Sabbioni and make a quick stop in Venice to pickup other tour participants before heading to Murano.

Enjoy the beautiful views of the lagoon and its scattered islands while learning about the history of Venice and the islands you will visit from your expert guide. Once in Murano, you'll have an hour to explore the island, world-famous for its long tradition of glass-making.

Choose to attend a 15-minute demonstration by a master glassmaker and pick up some local glass handicrafts or visit the Cathedral of Santa Maria and Donato and wander the town's quaint streets.

Move on to Burano where you will have about two hours to take in views of the island's famous colored houses. Peruse the shops selling renowned Burano lace and visit workshops where it is common to see women intent on embroidering various lace products.

Enjoy the mesmerizing backdrop of vividly colored houses, flowered balconies, fishermen coming and going in their boats, and the leaning bell tower. Eat lunch wherever you choose or get tips from your local guide on the best spots for different budgets.

Finally, make an hour-long stop at Torcello. Once the most populated island in the Republic of Venice and the trading center of the city, Torcello was gradually abandoned over the centuries and today has just over 10 inhabitants.

Enjoy the sleepy, bucolic setting of this ideal island getaway from the hustle and bustle of Venice. Check out the Cathedral of Santa Maria dell'Assunta, the Devil's Bridge, the Church of Santa Fosca, and the ancient stone chair called Attila's Throne.

A nice, varied trip with plenty of time at all stops. The title of the trip is confusing, though, because it doesn't depart from Jesolo, but from Punta Sabbioni. You are navigated there via Maps. Otherwise, the information provided is fine.

Very nice and interesting, even for children. An opportunity for those who have never been able to discover these islands in the Lagoon, which are wonderful by the way, to get to know them. Well done, everyone.

Wonderful experience... Everyone was very friendly, both on the Doge and the guide on land... The glassblowing demonstration was interesting... The islands were fantastic, well maintained, very clean, and distinctive. I highly recommend this experience!

Our trip was very enjoyable. All three islands are beautiful and really pleased we visited them. This said if we went again we would definitely do just Murano and Burano. We didn’t have a lot of time in Murano which was a shame as it was gorgeous. The glass blowing demonstration was amazing and well worth watching. Restaurants and shops in Murano and Burano are well worth a visit and the food was amazing. The ferry was busy and had to go to Venice 1st to collect passengers and drop off which added time onto the tour. It was also a bit chaotic at the ports but that’s to be expected I suppose. The only thing that took the shine off the day was the chaos trying to catch a bus back to our resort. The bus drivers just keep letting people on even when the bus is completely full then the speed and inconsiderate driving style makes it uncomfortable for all passengers on board. I understand this was not part of the tour but worth a mention if you have small children or elderly.

Liked the countdown’ to the trip. Punctual start, great boat - not squashed on and could easily sit outside or in. Tour guide gave interesting information about each island. Good amount of time on each island.

Safe, engaging, juicy visit. Softer seats and having a list of options in each island would have helped to make it better, but this trip is a highlight to my Venetian vacation. Multilingual guidance was a plus and the guides were kind and helpful.

plenty of time to look arround without being rushed. lovely Islands Burano and Morano, not much to see on Torcello. One criticism would have liked the information that the guide per say would meet us on the boat.
