The tour is great! We took the evening tour and enjoyed the buildings at night. There is an audio guide included in the price in many languages (Greek, too) which gives you very interesting information about the city, not the one you can find in any guide, but the details you have to search for. I would recommend you do the cruise at the beginning of your visit in Budapest so that you get to know the city. The staff is very friendly and the drinks offered make the one-hour cruise more enjoyable.

interior of Ludwig boat was luxurious and prosecco was REALLY unlimited, every sip you took was refilled. Upper part of boat was nice too but the billboard really ruins the atmosphere there… buildings were unfortunately not lightened at 23:00 at Saturday so it was pitty. But cruise was perfect. I recommend. :)

Fabulous evening cruise on the Danube.Chance to see the sunset and then see all the main buildings and bridgrs lit up,it's beautiful. Great musicians play at each table and there are dancers on the deck where meals are eaten. Good choice of drinks,we had 3 free beers with our ticket. It was also a 2hr cruise which is longer than most. Highly recommended .

I loved the boat Cruise, however, I believe that since the headphones with the information about the hot spots were not working, they should have hired someone to Tell us about the River and other hotspots throughout the ride.

We did the full day private wine tour during our long weekend in Budapest at Christmas time. The drive takes around 1.5 hours from Budapest. Despite the cold weather we thoroughly enjoyed our trip through the countryside to Lake Balaton, the lunch at a wonderful local restaurant and the beautiful winery. Our guide Attila was a very informative with a refreshing sense of humour. It was a welcome break from city sights!

Thermal Margaret Island (St. Margaret’s Spa) is an amazing spot – beautifully designed, super stylish, and incredibly clean. Towels are provided for free, and unlike the more famous Budapest baths, it’s not overcrowded, which makes the experience much more relaxing and enjoyable. There are several types of saunas, cold plunge pools, and lovely hot thermal baths. Everything is thoughtfully arranged, and the atmosphere is truly special – surrounded by palm trees and lush greenery, creating a scenic and tranquil setting. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer stunning views directly onto the gardens of Margaret Island, adding even more beauty to this peaceful oasis in the city.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best way to see all the major sights and monuments in Budapest in a short time?
For comprehensive and efficient sightseeing, we recommend a combination tour. Start with a guided walking tour of the Buda Castle District to immerse yourself in history, then experience the grand scale of the city from the water on a Danube River cruise. This multi-angle approach ensures you see the Hungarian Parliament, Fisherman's Bastion, and Gellért Hill with panoramic views without missing a beat, making the most of your visit.
Should I choose a group tour or a private tour for a personal experience in Budapest?
The choice depends on your preference for personalization. Group tours are social and cost-effective, offering excellent value. A private tour, however, provides a completely tailored itinerary and dedicated attention from your guide — ideal for a deep, personal experience, large group travels, or special occasions where you want to focus on specific interests.
What should I wear for a typical Budapest city tour, including visits to monuments?
For walking tours covering historic monuments, comfort is key. Wear sturdy shoes for uneven surfaces and dress in layers. For evening tours like dinner cruises to see the city lights, smart-casual attire is appreciated. Being prepared ensures you enjoy every moment, whether you're exploring Castle Hill or dining at fine restaurants.
What is included in the price of a Budapest tour?
Inclusions vary for flexibility. Most walking tours include a licensed guide. Our river cruises typically include the trip and often a welcome drink. Food tours include all tastings at local restaurants, and day trips include transport. Entry fees to specific attractions are clearly listed. Always check the "What's Included" section on the tour page for precise details.
How far in advance should I book tours to visit Budapest?
We advise booking early, especially for high-demand experiences like thermal baths, popular dinner cruises, and private tours. Early booking secures your spot and the best price. For last-minute plans, check our live availability — some group tours may have spots, but flexibility increases your chances. This is one of our top travel tips for a smooth visit to this European capital.
What is your cancellation policy?
Alle Travel offers flexible booking for peace of mind. For most Budapest tours, free cancellation is available up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. This allows you to book with confidence. Please verify the specific terms on your chosen tour page, as policies for special events may differ.
Can I combine a city tour with a cultural experience, like seeing the city lights from the Danube?
Absolutely — it's a fantastic way to dive deeper. Many visitors pair a morning historical walking tour with an evening Danube cruise to see the city lights and monuments magically illuminated. We offer a wide range of thematic tours so you can easily build your perfect itinerary, blending day exploration with nighttime spectacle.
Are your tours conducted in English?
Yes, all our group and private tours are led by professional guides fluent in English. Additionally, many tours offer audio commentary or guiding in other languages, such as German, for an informative experience. The available languages vary by tour, so please check the details on the specific excursion page for accurate information.
What makes a guided tour a more interesting way to explore Budapest?
A guided tour transforms sightseeing into an informative journey. A local guide provides context, shares hidden stories behind monuments, and offers insider travel tips. On a food tour, they unlock the secrets of Hungarian cuisine; on a cruise, they point out Margaret Island and Gellért Hill from the best angle. It saves time, enriches your understanding, and creates a memorable personal experience of this beautiful European city.
What are the best times of year to visit Budapest for tours and activities?
Budapest is a year-round destination, but each season offers a different experience. Spring (April–June) and autumn (September–October) are the sweet spots — mild weather, manageable crowds, and pleasant conditions for walking tours and outdoor activities. Summer (July–August) is peak season with the longest days and warmest weather, ideal for river cruises and bike tours, though popular experiences sell out faster. Winter (November–February) has its own charm with Christmas markets, thermal bath visits, and dramatically lit evening cruises — just dress warmly for outdoor activities. Danube cruises and food tours run year-round regardless of season.
Are Budapest tours suitable for children, and are there age limits?
Most Budapest tours welcome children, though suitability varies by activity. Walking tours and daytime sightseeing cruises are generally family-friendly, and many cruises offer free tickets for young children. Evening experiences like booze cruises or prosecco cruises are geared toward adults and may not be comfortable for kids despite having no strict age ban. Dinner cruises and food tours work well for older children who enjoy trying new things. Each tour page on Alle Travel lists specific age policies and ticket pricing, so check the details for your chosen activity before booking.
How much should I budget for tips on Budapest tours?
Tipping is appreciated but not mandatory in Hungary. For guided walking tours — especially free or low-cost ones starting at €3 — a tip of €5–10 per person is customary if you enjoyed the experience. For private tours and longer day trips, 10 to 15 percent of the tour price. is a generous guideline. On dinner cruises, gratuities are typically not included in the ticket price. For quick experiences like sightseeing cruises, tipping is less expected but always welcome. Having some small Forint notes or a few euros in cash makes tipping easy.
What safety measures are in place for tours in Budapest?
Tour operators in Budapest follow local safety regulations and EU standards. River cruises carry life-saving equipment, follow maritime safety protocols, and crew members provide safety briefings before departure — in adverse weather, operators reserve the right to cancel cruises for passenger safety. Walking tours stick to pedestrian-friendly routes, and guides are trained to manage group safety in busy areas. Private transfers use licensed, insured vehicles with professional drivers. If you have specific health concerns or mobility limitations, check the "Important Info" section on each tour page, as many experiences note accessibility restrictions and medical advisories upfront.
